At the top of our mind and goals here at myPharmacy is interacting with the communities we serve and providing them with the healthcare that they truly need. We continually seek ways to improve and provide healthcare at affordable rates, while ensuring quality in a myriad of ways.
Cue in DOT Glasses, a solution developed to provide affordable prescription eyeglasses to the last mile utilizing minimum time and providing great results while fostering collaboration between various arms of healthcare, including pharmacy and optometry to ensure that the communities and people we serve receive a positive impact on their health, via various media.
As part of our segue to provide this across Nigeria as exclusive partners, on Friday and Saturday, April 16- 17, 2021, we hosted the communities of Mushin, Itire and their environs with a 2-Day Health Outreach appropriately tagged ‘Hope In Sight’. The purpose of this event was to provide first-hand access to DOT Glasses to the residents and workers within the area, as well as educate them on the perks of using this solution while providing health education and checks.

We ensure that our service provision is wholesome, in addition to free eye screening and fully-kitted prescription glasses, we offered free blood pressure checks, medication review, body mass index checks. We also provided discounts on blood sugar checks and medication purchases.
While attending to over 200 patients through this event, we realized that there is still a gap in education and information about the basics of eye health in the overall populace, and we intend to dispel this, one person at a time.
“The 2-day community outreach which we just concluded was centred on achieving two goals:
Helping the community understand the importance of routine health checks which we emphasized during the health talk session where we enlightened the people on the dangers of self-medication.
We also introduced them officially to DOT glasses, which makes it easy for people to always carry out routine eye tests frequently with access to affordable prescription glasses. This definitely speaks volumes about our commitment at Advantage Health Africa via myPharmacy limited to make drugs and services easily affordable and accessible to as many people in the community.” said Adebowale Ijalana, Pharmacist, myPharmacy Natam Branch.

We look forward to the continuous impact of DOT Glasses in these communities and the country, at large.
